Sonder is the sensation of being in a crowd of people and realizing that everyone around you has a life as vivid and complex as your own. It is both a comforting and humbling feeling at the same time and something we often forget when are alone for too long.

Before Covid-19, people were already spending more time by themselves than any other time in human history. Humans are social beings by nature, which is why we feel feelings like sonder. However, with the convenience of spending time at home watching streaming services and ordering Door-dash or Uber Eats, its easy to see why people have neglected socializing and spending time with other people. This was a problem even before the virus, though it has definitely increased during Covid-19. And when we spend less time with other people, it can be easy to forget that everyone has their struggles and conflicts, therefore, making us feel alone in our own struggles and conflicts.

I am not saying do not social distance and avoid crowds, I am just examining an overlooked consequence of the Covid-19 Virus.
